During this fall in the book club we have talked a lot about the historical development of the political scene in South East Asia. It has included a lot of discussion about military involvement, student demonstrations and mass killings and different leaders in different countries handling these issues. The book is very interesting as it separates and tells the stories from each country and thus we can learn details about all of the countries at once. The topics have been very interesting and helped understand how South East Asia has turned out the way it is now, what events and issues have shaped them to become what they are nowadays.
